Lobster Fest....

Lobster is on sale here for $4.99 a pound...so off I went to get myself two 1 1/2 pounders....
I steamed them up with a piece of wonderful Jersey corn...melted a little bit of butter...added some lemon juice and a little bit of salt...put on my apron and went to town...
I felt almost like a cannibalistic person...but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do...
It was wonderful...simple...and just what I wanted.

Yesterday was my 28th wedding anniversary...I ate lobster the first night of my honeymoon...
it feels like it was yesterday. I think when my guy gets home we shall have it again...but this time for two!

  1. Oh, geez...$4.99. It's a fortune here. And dipped in butter to boot. Sounds like heaven to me.

    Happy Anniversary.

  2. Happy Anniversary Linda. Lobster really is a celebration food. It is our tradition to always have lobster on New Year's Eve.

    PS. Missed your posts.

  3. Happy Anniversary! Mind if I ask what store has the lobster sale? I'm in central Jersey so fingers crossed the same deal may be in my area. Thanks!

  6. Lori...I usually put them in a pot with about 1 cup of water....cover the pot and put the top on and walk away...15 minutes later they are done...I do not like to plunge them into boiling water...

    Mary...it is "Shop Rite"...
The lobsters are soft shelled...so you can rip apart the shells with your hands...no cracking needed...the only thing is there is not as meat as in a hard shelled lobster...to be honest I could have eaten another one...

  12. The lobsters we can get readily here, but what I wouldn't give for that Jersey corn to serve with them. Sooo good, with a couple of slices of Jersey tomatoes, and of course your blueberries for dessert. Happy Anniversary to you Linda and Mike! (((Hugs))) Regina
